Need some info about hereos
Hi there, I am new to guild wars. I have been playing prophecies for the past two weeks and recently installed eotn. I decided to take a break from prophecies quests because I read that I would get two hereos just from the first eotn quest. I got the dwarf and asura and now I'm wondering:
1) Are unlocked heroes available for all characters on an account, or would I have to unlock them again with my other characters? 2) If I get to keep the heroes for all characters then will they stay at level 20? Because when I make my next character I figure it would help me with quests and leveling to have these heroes. 3) Do heroes work like henchmen? Will they decrease my experience and drop rate when using them? 4) How do heroes get secondary jobs? Last edited by Snowcloud; Mar 07, 2010 at 07:54 PM // 19:54.. |

When you gain the heros, they are only on that character, and the Levels stay on that character as well.
So yes, you will have to gain the heros on another character to use them. Edit: Heros will affect your droprate, but as it stands now the droprate without hero/hench is still abysmal, so you wont really notice a diff. Last edited by vamp08; Mar 07, 2010 at 07:55 PM // 19:55.. |

4. Heroes get secondary job (profession) easily. Load the hero in your party bar, press 'I' to open your inventory, select the hero's avatar on the top (beside your character avatar). Then use the pull-down menu to change his secondary profession.

Uhhh..whut? To change a Heroes secondary profession, pressing "K" to bring up the "skills and attributes" window is the thing to do.

Only in Nightfall does your character begin with a hero. This is the campaign that introduced them to the game. For Prophecies and Factions, you need to reach level 10 and a port city (Lion's Arch or Kaineng Center) to gain the quest to go to Nightfall or EotN.
4. Remember that your heroes can only use skills that you have "Unlocked" on your account (this is cross character by the way, so if your monk learns a skill, your ranger's heroes can use it). Therefore you can change the hero's secondary profession but it won't help if he does not have skills available for that profession. You unlock skills by 1) getting them with a new character, 2) gaining them through a quest reward, 3) purchasing them through a Skill Trainer, 4) purchasing them with Balthazar Faction earned in PvP, or 4) capturing them (capping) with a Signet of Capture from dead bosses.
